Beautiful fall weather is in the forecast for a Bird-Watching nature program Saturday.
The Bird Walk 8 a.m. at Sodalis Nature Preserve is called “Happy Habitats.”
Hannibal Parks & Recreation Nature Educator Gale Rublee said, “By observing and listening, let’s see if we can determine which areas around the Sodalis Nature Preserve have more bird activity. What food sources are available to them as they start getting ready to migrate?”
The walk will stay on the paved trails but may cover up to two miles. Rublee suggests downloading the Merlin app prior to the event to track birds by sound.
These programs are led by Rublee and members of the Mississippi Hills Master Naturalist chapter.
Programs are free and open to the public but participation is limited. Register for space at www.hannibalparks.recdesk.com/Community/Program
