A free class for anyone interested in learning about pickleball will be Sept. 9. “Pickleball 101” will be 6-8 p.m. at Huckleberry Park courts. The rain location will be the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.
Bill Baker and Tom Batenhorst, Hannibal pickleball enthusiasts, are offering this class to teach people how to play what is often called America’s fastest-growing sport.
Baker said, “The class will focus on the basic rules of the game of pickleball along with the teaching of basic skills and strategy.”
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. It is a game that is appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels. Rules for pickleball are simple, making it a great introductory sport.
