The Admiral Coontz Recreation Center will reopen partially to the public at 7:30 a.m. July 15.
The facility has been closed and evacuated since July 3 out of an abundance of caution. Floodwaters haven’t risen to the level that would affect the facility. Hannibal Parks & Recreation officials have decided that some activities can be resumed but will not bring equipment back until the moderate flood stage is back to normal.
The building will be open for basketball, pickleball and walking during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Senior Adult Dances will be at the American Legion Post 55 at 3819 Highway MM from noon to 3 p.m. every Tuesday until the Recreation Center is completely opened again. The Play without Boundaries Sensory Room will also reopen when equipment is returned.
